YouTube greatness: American Movie Trailer.

One of the funniest movies I have ever seen, and probably the best documentary ever.

The Night Time is the Right Time.

Halloween weekend is always a pretty great time. I am going to be Dog the Bounty Hunter this year complete with a can of bear mace and a badge that reads "I will beat you in front of God and everyone here." Going to be a fun weekend. We normally bring the pain with a group costume, but it didn't really come together this year. Here are some shots from years past.
Last year as Team Zissou:And the year before that as the Red Sox:Which is where we saw these guys who had the best costumes I had ever seen:
We just had our office Halloween party and costume contest and my buddy Lawrence demolished the competition with this getup, unbelievable - I thought I was a Star Wars fan before I met this guy:And my friend Dale went as "Every Dallas Douchebag You've Ever Met" complete with the scent of both AXE and TAG body spray.
And Bree and Sara (of SaraStories blog fame) came as a Little Miss Sunshine and a Disgruntled Emo Chick.
So... already seen some good costumes - looking to see some more tonight. Everybody have a fun Halloween.

Decembersists live @ Gypsy Tea Room tonight.

The Decemberists are playing tonight at the Gypsy. I have a schedule conflict, but I hope I will be able to make out for the show. I haven't ever seen them, but enjoy their music immensely.
Their new album Crane Wife is excellent and has been met with critical acclaim across the spectrum.
The Decemberists - O Valencia!

If you can manage to fit another show in between Lost, Prison Break, The Nine, 24, Grey's Anatomy, etc., I highly recommend checking out Studio 60. I am going to spare you the details of the show, as I am sure you have heard some chatter about it already. If you were a fan of The West Wing, you are either already watching this show and love it, or def. should be. It is shot just like it (kinda low lit), and has a similar rhythm. Matthew Perry is great, as well as Amanda Peet - good casting. So NBC hit a homerun with Studio 60... why are they also doing another show with basically the same premise - 30 Rock is what it's called I think. It's a great premise for a show, interesting it hasn't been done yet - and then this year there are two? I am kinda interested in it as well - Alec Baldwin can be pure gold. Sorry about the lack of posts recently - kinda weak I know... more content coming soon.

New stuff to check out, I recommend getting out there and buying all these album, as they are all very awesome. MMJ is coming to Dallas next month. If they come to your fair burg - I encourage you to go check it out. Probably the best show I saw last year. What Made Milwaukee is from Austin and Midlake is from Denton - Texans have been cranking out some great music lately. This new Midlake album is going to be big I think, it has been in the first slot of the CD changer for the past couple weeks, the sample song provided is just plain great.
Mp3s for your enjoyment:
TV On The Radio - Wolf Like Me
The Rapture - Get Myself Into It
What Made Milwaukee Famous - I Decide
My Morning Jacket (live) - Lowdown
Midlake - Roscoe

Livin' On A Prayer.

The Four Left Turns first live show.

The first show went great... we even got a couple other offers for some future shows. It was a whole lot of fun, we are looking forward to getting a real gig that everyone can come to. If you are interested in listening to some of our traxx, you can check out our myspace page at: www.myspace.com/thefourleftturns.
The site isn't finished yet, but you can at least go on there and check out the music. If you are a myspacer, make sure you make us your friend - however that works.

Outta mind. Outta site.

Headed down to Ft. Worth tonight to see Wilco. I am sure that it will not dissappoint. I would normally be incredibly excited today, but tomorrow the Four Left Turns have their first show, so that has been occupying my thoughts more than anything. Going to be the first time for me to play guitar in front of a crowd... we shall see. Here's a little Wilco for the soul. Hopefully I will have some pics from both shows to post - keep an eye out for 'em.

Little Superstar is great.

Does anyone else out there watch that little guy doing his break dancing at least a couple times a day or is it just me? Why does smoke a cigarette at the end? - I love his voice too... God I wish I knew what they were saying. Here is another clip from the same film I guess - I can't get enough of this guy. Why are all these kids hanging out in an opium den?

The Mustard/Mayonnaise War has begun.

A little Halloween time tip I thought I would let you guys in on. Not a big fan of candy corn on its own - but with some peanuts in there... not a bad snack.
