Grow Cube Puzzle.

If anyone can figure this out, you are a smarter/more patient individual than myself. This is strangely addictive. The picture above is the farthest (is it "farthest" or "furthest"?) I could get... I am looking to a certain law student with a ton of time on his hands to figure it out.
